THE BEST SHOWS AND LOOKS FROM NYFW A/W ’21 – VIRTUAL

It is another season of virtual fashion shows for NYFW.  There were a few that took place in person, but the majority of them took place online.  As a fashion blogger and influencer, it has been quite the adjustment getting into the mood and swing of things from a virtual standpoint.  There is nothing like sitting front row at a show and embracing everyone’s stunning attire.  Although a bit saddened by missing the way that things used to be, I will have to say that these designers did not come to play.  The brought their triple-A game with these virtual fashion productions.  I was left in awe and so inspired to see everyone take a different level of creativity.  If you were not able to tune in, you missed something game changing, but that is quite alright.  I am about to give you a quick run down on my favorite shows and favorite looks from each designer’s collection.

DAY 1 - FEBRUARY 14

MAISON KITSUNE - NYFW A/W 2021

The aesthetic of the MAISON KITSUNÉ show gave me such clean NYFW street style vibes.  This brand is a fashion blogger’s dream.  It bodies every inch of what many would wear to the shows. The quality of the pieces and video production is remarkable.  My favorite piece is the logo’d sweater (PALAIS ROYAL CABLE PULLOVER).  I need that to add to my wardrobe closest to pair with a cute maxi skirt.  This designer did such an excellent job on this collection.  I cannot wait to see what future shows will look like for them.

TADASHI SHOJI- NYFW A/W 2021

The TADASHI SHOJI show gave shipwrecked, Titanic meets high fashion.  The pieces are so regal and matched the colors of the background.  The warm yet fiery tones gave such a pop. I was not ready for the show to end.  I would have loved to see more pieces for this collection. The visuals were great!

PRABAL GURUNG- NYFW A/W 2021

PRABAL GURUNG‘S collection gave me 60s-80s decades meets Fashion Night Out.  It was a fun party with friends who all showed up to slay to the Gawd’s.  The polka dot patterns are most definitely my favorite pieces from this collection. Oh, I cannot forget the brown leather gloves.  The visuals for this show was so vibrant and made you feel like you were watching your friends have the time of their lives.

DAY 2- FEBRUARY 15

RAISAVANESSA - BANNER

When I say I have never been so amazed by a production, RAISA VANESSA took the cake.  I do not know where to begin.  When watching this collection, I immediately got Fifth Element vibes.  Everything was so futuristic. The model with the blonde bob definitely slayed the entire essence of this collection.  All of the pieces are so well put together that I could not pick a favorite.  I would add them all into my wardrobe.  They have set the bar for what an amazing show and production should look like.  I am beyond impressed and have watched the video over 20 times already.  The creative direction is unmatched, and the collection is top tier.  I would have to say this is my favorite show of NYFW.

LAVIE BY CK - NYFW A/W 2021

I have always been a personal fan of the LAVIE by CK brand.  This brand embodies everything for “The Culture”.  It brings us back to our roots.  Showcasing such elegance and the power and strength of the Queens presented.  I love that it shows the men praising the women and giving them the respect that they deserve.  The patterns of the pieces are very stunning.  The blue and yellow ensembles caught my eye the most.  The headwraps are to die for.  The final scenes with everyone sitting on the rocks gave me elated WAKANDA vibes.  I believe Chadwick would be a fan of this presentation and collection.  Shoutout to the brand for being showcased in Coming 2 America.  That is huge!

DAY 3 - FEBRUARY 16

ALICE + OLIVIA - NYFW A/W 2021

Alice + Olivia‘s collection gave me Bridgerton meets Mean Girls.  I got a you can’t sit with us vibe, but not in a bad way.  We all have our days when we get together with our friends and slay like it is nobodies business.  The plaid prints were darling in this collection.

DAY 4 - FEBRUARY 17

CINQ À SEPT- NYFW A/W 2021

Cinq á sept took a different approach than most of the other brands.   They gave us a behind the scenes lookbook photoshoot.  I am all here for it.  It was simple and straight to the point.  My favorite pieces are between the textured 3-piece suit and the bright yellow dress.

DAY 5 - FEBRUARY 18

The Blonds never disappoints.  I am always here for the shimmer and bling.  Their collection was futuristic as well.  It was fun and kept your attention.  I have been wanting to see one of their productions for a while in person.  I hope to get to see that when things get back to normal.

CHRISTIAN COWAN - NYFW A/W 2021

I literally got up from my bed and did a huge round of applause for Christian Cowan and this production. The fact that it was met with comedy and fashion had me on my toes.  I loved the cameo from Paris Hilton, as well on the Motorola flip phone.  It gave me nostalgia.  When Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang turned into fashion stars and burst through the door, it took me out.  It was the confidence and pure joy for me.  They both nailed it! My favorite looks from this collection would have to be the kitchen look with the all black and the oversized hat and the shimmered orange dress with the matching legging boots. I am officially a huge fan!

The Rebecca Minkoff collection gave such calm vacation vibes.  I did not realize how much a missed travel seeing all of these beautiful pieces surrounded by the beautiful plants.  I booked me a vacay to Miami right after this.  The collection had a nice variety of evergreen pieces that you can mix and match with different seasons, and I love that.  My favorite outfit would be the denim print full outfit (Shay  Jacket) with the matching purse.  I got such 90s vibes from it, and I need it in  my closet.
